Oh fall, I have waited so long for you! And this is what I get? Really? Although it’s fall it’s still hot as blue blazes here. Occasionally we’ll get a cold front, okay, once, we had a cool morning once. While impatiently waiting for fall weather, I am trying to pull out a couple of my fall clothing items.
The quickest way to transition summer pieces into fall is by switching from summer shoes to a more fall-ready mule. Mules have been on-trend for two years, and I see no sign of this trend ending soon. Mules are an easy to style throw-on-and-go obsession of mine that gives simple wardrobe pieces an extra boost. For example, if you throw them on with jeans and a tee and you are instantly more dressed up than jeans and flip-flops.
Another way to transition summer pieces into fall is by trading summer bags for fall/winter bags. Unfortunately, it’s time to put away the basket bags and bring out all the fall and winter goodness. 2018 handbag trends are bringing back a few favorites that I can’t wait to get my hands on and a few new trends that I am dying to try. The biggest trends this season are the top handle bag, logo bag, croc embossed, saddle bag, belt bag, and the chain strap.
My wardrobe is built around neutrals, so I went with a khaki dress, but a great way to transition summer pieces into fall is to mix in fall colors with your summer pieces. Burgundy, olive, burnt orange, etc. are great colors for fall. Your skin tone, favorites, and what’s already in your closet should be the deciding factor.
Do you wear your summer pieces all year? How do you transition from summer to fall? How do you dress during the fall when it’s still hot as blue blazes outside? Give me all your tips in the comments.
