Tuesday Ten

Tuesday Ten

Every week I put together a list of some of my favorite things. Have a look at the list and let me know if you have tried any of the things. If you have, tell me your thoughts. If you haven’t, what are you doing with your life? I kid, I kid. But seriously, what are you doing with your life?

  1. I just restarted It Starts With Food. This book outlines the Whole30 plan. I tried the Whole30 and I made it 10 days. I probably should have read the book first but you live and learn, right? In case you didn’t know I love food in an unhealthy way. My diet is not horrible but it could definitely use some improvements. Hi, I’m Amanda, and I’m a sugar addict. The Whole30 is designed to stop unhealthy cravings and improve our overall relationship with food. People have said it improved their sleep, energy levels, mood, and self-esteem. I will be making another attempt at Whole30. Stay tuned.
  2. These cheetah slippers got worn so much that I just ordered a new pair. These are the first thing I put on when I walk in the door. They come in 5 colors but I prefer neutrals so I ordered another pair in the cheetah print.
  3. As someone who believes “The Bigger the Hair the Closer to God” I use any product I can get my hands on to achieve the big hair. Sexy Hair Big Play Volumizing and Texturing Powder is good stuff! You just shake a little at your roots, rub it in, and your hair has instant volume. If needed, you can just tousle your hair at the roots throughout the day. Hallelujah!
  4. This polka dot sweater is even cuter in person. It added a little color to my mostly neutral closet for spring. It’s paper thin so it can be worn even on warmer days with a denim skirt and some cute wedge sandals.
  5. Since I have been wearing braces on my bottom teeth, flossing has been impossible. This Waterpik is definitely my BFF (how sad am I right now?). It’s cordless so I take it with me when I travel and it stays charged for days. If you have young ones with braces then you definitely need this in your life.
  6. I avoid the sun (anti-aging reasons), I don’t eat a lot of seafood, and I rarely have dairy. So…my vitamin D levels can get low from time to time. After the whole “big truck incident” I became very in tune with my body so I can usually tell when my vitamins are low. To avoid low vitamin D I take Vitamin K2 + D3 every day. This particular vitamin is vegan and it has coconut oil for better absorption.  A low vitamin D level can cause me to feel tired and weak and I am in more pain than usual. A depressed mood can also be a sign of deficiency but I have suffered from depression since I was a teenager so it’s hard for me to monitor this symptom.
  7. Benefit’s Benetint does double duty and I feel like a ghost without it. It adds the perfect berry stain to my lips that lasts for hours, even with lipgloss over it. It also adds a perfect tint to the apples of my cheeks.
  8. This Kate Spade handbag is perfect for summer. I had a red striped bag that I carried on repeat all winter so this bag is the perfect replacement. The fabric is much lighter and it’s the perfect size. It’s also less expensive than my other bags (Chloe, cough cough) so I feel justified to buy a few more dresses. (ha!)
  9. ORIBE Dry Texturizing Spray is the best if you have fine, thin hair (me). It’s a little expensive but it’s good stuff. It has alcohol in it so it can be a little drying, especially if you dye your hair often (also me). I use Nounou Hair Mask weekly to help. My hair is already damaged so it needs all the love it can get. This hair mask makes it feel so much softer.
  10. This house dress is what I will be wearing this summer when I’m casually sitting around instead of sweats. I’m not sure if I feel sophisticated or old but whatever. This little dress is so comfy that I am buying it another color and I am on the lookout for more house dresses.
